Your reading stays yours.

What is stored

• A one-way hash derived from your identity provider and provider-specific account identifier.
• The identifier of each book you visit while signed in.
• The first and most recent visit time, and the number of visits.

What is not stored

• Your Microsoft or Google password.
• OAuth access tokens or refresh tokens in the reading-history data.
• Gmail, Microsoft 365, Drive, calendar, contacts, or other account content.
• Your email address as the key for reading-history records.
• Your profile photo in reading-history storage.

Identity providers

Authentication is handled by Microsoft Azure App Service Authentication using Microsoft and Google as identity providers. Rekindle Insights receives validated basic identity claims such as a provider-specific identifier, display name, and email address. Your profile photo is retrieved from your provider only while you are signed in and is returned through a privately cached image endpoint.

Separate sign-in methods

A Microsoft sign-in and a Google sign-in are treated as separate Rekindle Insights accounts, even when they use the same email address. Accounts are not merged automatically.

New-book notification interest

The notification bell lets you record an email address as interested in future new-book alerts. This is not a confirmed subscription, and Rekindle Insights does not currently send notification emails.

• The normalized email address, interest timestamp, source, and consent-text version are stored.
• For signed-in users, the existing hashed user identifier and provider may be associated with the interest record.
• Before notifications begin, every interested address will be required to complete email confirmation.
• Signed-in users can remove their own interest from the notification panel.

Bookmarks and votes

When you are signed in, Rekindle Insights stores your bookmark and upvote or downvote selection using the same hashed provider-specific identity used for reading history.

• Upvotes and downvotes are mutually exclusive and can be cleared by selecting the active vote again.
• Public pages show aggregate vote counts only; they never identify who cast a vote.
• Your personal bookmarks and votes are visible only in your signed-in My Collections page.

Feedback

Feedback can be submitted anonymously. When you are signed in, the feedback record also includes your display name, email address, authentication provider, and hashed user identifier so administrators can understand the context of your comments.

Book suggestions

Book suggestions require sign-in. The selected book metadata, your display name, email address, authentication provider, and hashed user identifier are stored so administrators can review the suggestion and add the book to the public collection.

Administrative access

Authorized Rekindle Insights administrators can view notification-interest records, feedback, book suggestions, and the administrator list. Public pages never expose subscriber identities, feedback identities, suggestion identities, or individual voting records.

Control your history

You can remove individual books or clear your complete history from the Reading History page. Signing out stops new visits from being recorded until you sign in again.
